Tender for housing units in Quriyat in final stage: Municipality chief
MUSCAT — Sultan bin Hamdoun bin Saif Al Harthy, chairman of Muscat Municipality, said yesterday that awarding of the tender for construction of over 700 residential units in the wilayat of Quriyat, to replace the residential units affected by the unusual weather conditions that prevailed in the Sultanate, to a specialised international company operating in the Sultanate, was in the final stage.
The project, estimated to cost RO81 million, is expected to commence within two months, he added.
The project would cover seven new residential areas — Hail Al Ghaf, Al Mazarie, Al Ainain, Al Salhah, Hajir Quriyat, Daghmar and Dhabab. The residential units would be constructed in areas far from water courses (wadis) and according to the Omani architectural design, he said.
The houses, ranging from 200-340 sq.m, comprise two to six bedrooms and all other utilities and services, he added.
